We’re high up and the fields lower down. We think they’ve taken some of the soil away. <br/><br/>“We think it’s the vibration of the machinery that’s caused the problems. <br/><br/>“The vibration of the machinery has shaken the earth around the garden. <br/><br/>“I could just see a crack in the ground. It wouldn’t stop.<br/><br/>“It’s a civil engineering job. If they don’t do anything about it, it’ll fall in the field.” <br/><br/>Linda Jackson, 74, who lives on the street with her husband Richard, 76, said: “Our concern is because they’ve dug away the bank and left a 15ft drop from <br/>our garden, we’re concerned that the same thing will happen to us and our lawn will fall away. <br/><br/>“Apparently they’re going to build a retaining wall but no one has been here to communicate that with us. We just pick bits up here and there. <br/><br/>“Our garden could slip away. It’s a significant drop. When I walked down there I couldn't believe it. <br/><br/>“We were overlooking the field but now we’re overlooking a building site. <br/><br/>“We don't have a right to a view, but we have a right to know what’s going on. <br/><br/>“What I would particularly like is some assurance as to what’s happening. <br/><br/>“We’ve been living here since they were built 50 years ago and nothing like this has ever happened before.<br/><br/>“Most of the people around here are retired. We’ve had our garden landscaped, so if it disappeared into the field it would be very upsetting. <br/><br/>“We’ve had a lot of rain but that hasn’t caused the issue before. <br/><br/>“The noise and the dust is incredible. <br/><br/>“I can’t put white sheets outside because the air is full of dust. _we-built-the-world39s-only-bugatti-aerolithe.webp "AFTER vanishing off the face of the Earth in 1936, with no clue as to its whereabouts, the one of a kind Bugatti Aerolithe has been rebuilt. The car originally debuted at the Earl’s Court Motor Show in the UK in 1935, but after its disappearance, all trace it ever existed lay in just a few photos and some blueprints of the brake pedal and radiator grill. These limitations didn’t stop classic car fanatic David Grainger and his team at The Guild of Automotive Restorers, who painstakingly rebuilt the lost car on a modified Bugatti Type 57 chassis. Using the blueprint of the radiator grill, David and his team worked out the exact dimensions, to the millimetre, of the car and then proceeded to sculpt the body using magnesium, as was done on the original. The magnesium sheets make the car extremely light and therefore increase its top speed. However, the sheets are by no means cheap, costing David around $3,000 each, of which the Bugatti Aerolithe needed 15 for its rebirth. Recreating the body wasn’t the only challenge. David needed to rebuild, from scratch, the tyres to replicate the white walled Dunlop’s on the original car, as they are no longer in production. David’s team skillfully produced identical replicas of the wheels and the Bugatti Aerolithe now stands exactly as it did before, complete with fixed windows and manual brakes.")

Soulsby and he’s Harriet’s great great<br/>Grandfather. <br/>In the late 1800s and early 1900s, Soulsby, owned and ran a menswear shop in the industrial heartlands of Northumbria.<br/>“It was in the family for generations - everybody mucked in and was part of it.<br/>“My granny spent a lot of time there until she was married and she told me a lot of stories. <br/>“They specialised in quality menswear clothing and the idea was they were pieces that would last.”")
