解放前《百屏灯》在民间流传很广，它近似《潮州歌册》的文学形式。每句七字，内容包函一屏灯名，四句为一组，用字讲究平仄押韵，读来朗朗上口。当时市面铅印有单页出售。本人听着老人教小孩唱《百屏灯》，觉得有趣好听，省下零食钱，买上一张《百屏灯》，读着读着，久能成颂。光阴荏苒，弹指流光，转瞬已五十余年。惜乎《百屏灯》没有保留下来，所幸记忆尚存
