Description: Part 1

The Monolith Monsters (1957) actor Phil Harvey may resemble Burgess Meredith & possibly another actor, actress or group from some TV series or movie I was not quite sure of. I thought Dustin Hoffman may also resemble Harvey.

Meredith & Hoffman share some interesting connections:

- The Star Wagon, a 1937 stage play theatrical ran on Broadway with Meredith in the lead. A version was later recorded for TV in 1966 with Dustin Hoffman as Hanus Wicks.
- Santa Claus The Movie (1985): Meredith played an ancient elf in this. Hoffman reportedly turned down the role of B.Z. eventually played by John Lithgow.
- The Day Of The Locust: Meredith had a part in this as Harry Greener, Hoffman was reportedly briefly attached to appear in this.
- Both may have acted in Tim Burton's Batman Returns in 1992. Hoffman was considered to play Penguin, supposedly favored by the film studio Warner Brothers. Batman TV series (1966-1968) actor Meredith was to make a cameo playing Penguin's father but fell ill.

Connections: - Phil Harvey was in A Touch Of Evil (1958) with director / actor Orson Welles. Les Tremayne (of The Monolith Monsters) had a background in radio (as did horror actor Vincent Price, Egghead in Batman).
- Welles has another link to DC Comics, having appeared in-character as Count Cagliostro from the film Black Magic (1949) in Superman no. 62 in 1950.

I also thought Phil Harvey may resemble actor William Sylvester (see part 2).
