I see this most often in a few of my favorite documentaries as well as a few of my favorite shows. This technique is perfect for what I'm hoping to accomplish. So, using some basic skills like masking and perspective, I took a shot of me standing on a table in my yard with my Canon 5D Mark II (I adore that camera), and then a shot of the yard without me in it. The recorded video is then played back as the background to the live mask while it creates a new video recording repeating the process and making a collage of different masks.
